Eight former participants of the Context Competition from different years will come together to create a single work with a unique scenography. Matter represents a range of different contemporary dance styles, approaches, and choreographic codes.

The production will take the viewer on a journey from the macrocosm to the microcosm, thereby unifying questions of time and space. What is that infinity that resides within a human being and what is a human being in the cosmic infinity? Humanity is neither an ending point nor a starting point--humans are part of an endless motion. Is there a soul to be found in this endless and all-encompassing movement, which would unify people, space, and time?

Konstantin Keychel, Ernest Nurgali, Olga Labovkina, Konstantin Semyenov, Olga Vasilyeva, Olga Timoshenko, Andrei Merkuriev, and Vladimir Varnava are the choreographers. All of them are brilliant figures in contemporary Russian choreography, which determine the development of dance. In different years, each of these authors achieved wide renown through the festival.

For the tenth season of Context, the choreographers will create a single performance-journey for the first dance group project of the festival.
