Festival 2022

Context. Film

July 20

Open call for short films

Film and dance are connected inseparably: they both use movement as one of the fundamental ways to preserve and convey emotions subtly and accurately.

The tenth season of the Context festival seeks to reassess the experiences of the last decade and change our approach to our film programme.

Context. Film has a three-part structure: a programme of short films collected through an open call, feature-length films about art and dance, and a premiere of a documentary feature about Context. Diana Vishneva festival jubilee.

This year, for the first time, Context. Film will include films selected from an open call. Context will collect short films, music and experimental videos dedicated to dance, and will present them to the festival audience.

The works of the open call finalists will be presented with other parts of Context. Film: full-length films about art and the premiere of a documentary film created for the festival's tenth anniversary.

Short film open call of the tenth season of Context starts on July 20 and will last until October 20. You can send film submissions on FilmFreeway

The films must be produced after 1st January 2020, maximum film length is 15 minutes, we are looking for works using various film language tools and hybrid forms of storytelling.
