The film program of Diana Vishneva's Context festival has always been one of the main centers of attraction of the festival: during the 5 years of the festival, the audiences have seen a large number of new films by recent winners of various dance film festivals, as well as cult works about choreography.

This year the film program of the festival extends beyond the two cities where it takes place, and becomes accessible throughout Russia and CIS countries. This has been made possible thanks to the platform of documentary film NONFICTION, which, during the festival, will provide the audience with access to all the selected films of the program.

This year the program includes films, which tell about choreographers, whose work we can see on stage in the framework of the festival, as well as top films released in the past years. The documentary about the youngest resident choreographer of New York City Ballet Justin Peck Ballet 422 will get you prepared for the evening of the National Ballet of Canada, and the cult work about Ohad Naharin Mr Gaga will make you fall in love with contemporary Israeli dance even before you see his new production Venezuela. After the film about Naharin watch the movie, telling the story of his dancer Bobbi Jene. You may also watch one of the most famous movies about modern dance (Pina), as well as immerse in the world of the incredibly talented violator of choreographic order Alexander Ekman (Rare Birds, Play Serious). You may see another work by Ekman in the unique Swedish documentary, dedicated to Ingmar Bergman and choreography in his work. If the film about Justin Peck shows us from inside how the largest American theatre works, the film The Paris Opera tells us about the work of the most grandiose theatre of France. And, of course, the beautiful meditative film Attraction featuring the founder of the festival Diana Vishneva is not to be missed.
